change is in his case, when everyting was going alright, and when everything was going right. way before everything happened. that was the first soup. then the new soup came, when the SS came in and when everyone was getting beating, and then evreyones families started splitting apart. thats the secong soup. when everyhting starts out good and turns to madness!
I believe that this is because in the first instance, in which the adult was hanged, it was that man's own fault, because he tried to steal the soup. The other prisoners, therefore, felt indifferent about his fate, most likely glad that there was one less mouth to feed. But when the child was hanged, it was a different matter entirely. Children, back then, represented innocence, and that child in particular represented a kind of "purity" within the camp. It sickened all of the prisoners, (as well as some of the guards), to see him die. Thus, the passage about the soup tasting of corpses holds no literal meaning, but implies that the soup would not taste remotely good, due to the horrible act committed earlier that day.
he soup can symbolize the emotions that elie has gone through and how it has affected him. the good soup shows how elie's feeling pretty good mood. the bad soup shows how after he saw the child get hung then he didnt feel so hot.
The soup tasted of corpses to Ellie due to the hanging of the young boy. The hanging literally left a bad taste in his mouth. It was very disturbing. The previous hanging wasn't as disturbing since the people being hanged were so typical.
The soup probably tasted better because they had to wait longer for it as they waited after the hanging. The longer you wait for something, the better it tastes after it is long awaited. The soup on pg 65 tasted like corpses because the man shot had his face in the soup when he was killed. He was a corpse in the soup before he fell to the ground.
when they had killed the ahe adult they really didnt care because the person deseved it. there wasnt anything good about them. the night that the soup tasted like corpse was because the had to see the awful murder of a child. their appetite might have disapeared and caused the soup to taste horrible.
The soup was tasting different according to his mood when it tasted good he was in a good mood but after the man was hanged in front of him he was in a bad mood and therefore the soup tasted worse because of guilt
the soup tasted different depending on what he felt that day. When he said the soup tasted good, it tasted good because he didnt feel any pity for the adults that were hanged. When the soup tasted bad, it was because of what he felt for the boy. The innocent boy had to fight between life and death while he was being strangled.
The reason that the soup tasted better the first time is because of the feelings and the thoughts going through his head. The first instant they felt that the guy diserved it, therefore there were no real negative throughts going through his head, only positive. He tried to steal and now he was being punished for it. The second soup came after the hanging. They felt that the little boy did not deserve to die, putting negitive thoughts through his head. That caused the the bad taste.
well it probably tasted better because that man who died got what he deserved and he was happy of that. But when he saw a little kid suffer for a longer time who didn't deserve it he felt bad which shows how the soup reflects around that by how eli feels
I think that the reason Elie said that the soup tasted better than ever, was because that was the first time he had seen someone being hanged, and killed, and he was just appreciative that he had something to eat, and wasn't the one being killed. When he said that the soup tasted of corpses, i think it was because he had seen enough killing, and his mood had completely changed from being appreciative to almost feeling guilty.
In the begining the soup was satisfying and no one (visually) was hurt or killed to get the soup and no one was at the point where they would risk there life to get the soup. But then people started taking risks and getting shot. This made the people realize that things were getting worse in the camp and that made the soup "taste like corpses" because people died for one ration.
When he said that the soup tasted better than ever, he was starving and anything he ate tasted good to him. When he said that that night the soup tasted of corpses, the hanging of the child was still fresh in his mind and the soup tasted like what he just witnessed.
Everything started out fine so the soup tasted alright, but when things started to get worst like people being beat and killed thats when the soup started to taste like corpses.
It all depended on the context of the situations that were happening around him. You could have your favorite food in the world and not want it if you're in bad mood/upset, and vice versa.
the world around him at the time of each hanging is different. the first time elie thought " heyy he did something wrong and deserves to die, i havent done any thing and am probalbly sfe" but by the second he realized he wasn't
In the first event, Elie says the soup tasted better than ever. This is due to the happy state of mind of which Elie was in at the time, as the dentist who wished to deprive Elie of his crowns was killed, and felt he got what he deserved. However, when the child was hanged, it was an entirely different case as this child represented innocence and was dying slowly on the gallows. This mournful event reflected over the tasting of the soup and, therefore, the soup, tasting bitter, tasted of corpses.
On page 63 the soup tasted so good because they were so hungry and just wanted to get their food. But on page 65 the soup tastes of corpses because before they ate a kid died. They were really sad and when you are not feeling well or are thinking of something bad then of course things don't taste well at all.
The change was when the soup tasted better than ever, they had just started at Auschwitz and didn't know of the terrible things to come. After a while, they saw and experienced many horrible things. WHen the soup tasted of corpses, the people had just watched a child be hhanged. Things just got worse and worse as time went on.
The first night was just some person to Elie, some adult, whom he didn't really care about. But when he saw the young boy get hung, he viewed it as horribly inhumane to do something so cruel to someone so young, he couldn't have done anything to deserve that.
Everything was changing and getting worse and worse. At first the soup tasted fine, but then after he had experienced all those horrible things, it tasted worse and he just resented being there.

at first that soup tasted better when its really recent, but then when time goes by it got more stale or spoiled.
As the time went by, the soup started to taste worse.

He wanted the bread of other people since there was a better chance of getting more. But when he saw the kid die he didn't taste the soup at all.
